How to read the calendar
Rows are grouped by month, newest first in each month, with a running countdown to the deadline. Early Decision rounds are binding, which is the first thing the round badge tells you: a red ED dot is a contract, a green EA dot is a courtesy, and REA and SCEA are early and non-binding with limits on other early applications. Regular Decision is the standard round everyone shares.
Use "Add to ladder" to pin the rounds you actually care about, and the bottom panel keeps them sorted by date with a fresh countdown. The whole thing stays in the URL, so a filtered view or a built ladder can be shared and reopened. Rolling schools list the closing date the Common App reports, shown as "open until," because "open until filled" is a different kind of deadline than a fixed date. Use the month bar to jump straight to the busiest months, when hundreds of rounds land on the same day.
Questions this tool answers
Are these the real deadlines?
They are the common published deadlines for Fall 2027 entry, assembled in late October 2026 from each school's admissions site and the Common App. Colleges move dates year to year, so confirm the deadline on the school's own admissions page before you rely on it.
What is the difference between ED, EA, and REA?
Early Decision is binding: if you are admitted you attend, so a student applies to one ED school. Early Action is non-binding, so you can apply to several. Restrictive Early Action and Single-Choice Early Action are early but non-binding, with limits on applying elsewhere early. Regular Decision is the standard non-binding round.
What does rolling admission mean?
A rolling school reviews applications as they arrive instead of on a fixed deadline, so earlier is better for spaces and scholarships. Several rolling schools list a priority date on this page; after it, the school keeps reviewing but demand may have grown.
Why is a school missing from this list?
This list covers every Common App member school that published a dated deadline for Fall 2027 entry in the fall 2026 cycle, over a thousand schools. A school that publishes no dated deadline (some rolling schools give none) is the only kind that might be absent.
Is the countdown right for my time zone?
Countdowns count calendar days to midnight in your browser's local time. Colleges state an exact deadline time, often 11:59 p.m. Eastern or in the school's own time zone, so treat the countdown as a planning aid and check the school's stated time.
Where the dates come from
Deadlines were assembled in late October 2026 from the Common App's Fall 2027 member-college deadline listings, covering more than a thousand schools with dated rounds. Colleges publish exact deadline times and change dates between cycles, so treat every row here as a strong lead and confirm the date on the school's own page before you plan around it. Each school name also opens the College Explorer here, where the same published figures elsewhere on this site can be compared row by row.
