Glossary/Accreditation

Accreditation

Accreditation means an outside agency reviewed the school and said it clears a quality bar.

Institutional accreditation is the one that unlocks federal aid and makes transfer credit possible. Programmatic accreditation is narrower (nursing, business) and layers on top. If a school dodges this topic, walk away.

Someone outside the school checked that it meets a bar. Without that, aid and transfers get weird.
